A few hours hike and you'll be on top of one of the highest peaks in the Brenta Dolomites, or passing by some of the stunning lakes, admiring the sparkling waterfalls, walking through lush, green valleys or visiting some of the cultural and archaeological sites or the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park visitors' centres. A multitude of places to see and discover to make your holiday both stimulating and constructive.

Cima Vallon

This imposing massif, from which the baita gets its name rises between the Vallon Alto and the Busa di Sacco, and dominates with it height, and grandness of its forms, the Val d'Algone and Baita Valon. It is, in fact the highest peak, not only of the group to which it gives its name, but also of the entire southern sector of the Brenta Group.

Rifugio XII apostoli

The Cima XII Apostoli rises behind the homonymous refuge and acts as a watershed between the Vallone di Nardis and the Busa (or Val) di Sacco. 
The normal access route, with a short and easy climb, leads to the panoramic summit through the south-east ridge. It is a beautiful, short and easy, but very satisfying ridge climb.

Cima Tosa

At 3.173m it's the highest mountain of the Brenta Dolomites. An imposing rock massif with steep sides nestled between the Pozza Tramontana and the upper ends of the Ambiez, Camosci and Brenta valleys. The summit is topped by a snow cupola ,almost like a shaven head, hence the name Cima Tosa which literally means,in local dialect,shaven head.

Localita movlina

A natural balcony from where to admire the whole valley and the majestic mountains of the Adamell-Presanella Group. Movlina must be taken into consideration for its truly panoramic and strategic position for excursions in the Vallon Group and for ascents to the XII Apostoli refuge and the XII Apostoli peak,. At Movlina there's the homonymous mountain farm, but it is not a refreshment or bivouac point for hikers.

Val Algone

The Val d'Algone is situated in the southern sector of the Brenta Group and is one of the widest and wildest valleys of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. This is where Baita Valon is situated. The valley offers an extraordinarily extensive biodiversity of trees, bushes, plants and grasses. Many animals live in this immense, unspoilt habitat, such as marmots, deer, and chamois and it's even possible to get a glimpse of the golden eagle!

Foto Val Agola

Ideal destination for those who want to spend a relaxing day immersed in the luxuriant nature of the homonymous valley. This lake with crystal clear waters abides at the presence of the gigantic Brenta Dolomites and nestles between Val Brenta and the mountains of western Trentino.

Sorgente algone

Splashes of clean, clear water emerge directly from the ground. The Algone stream rises from the mountain's top and flows through the valley passing next to baita Valon.

Cascata Rio Bianco

The Rio Bianco waterfall is situated at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites not far from the historical Stenico Castle. It Is fed by the waters of the Rio Bianco and dies in winter but comes back to life in spring regaining all its power and force.. Downstream its waters feed a hydroelectric generating station, they then flow into the river Sarche which in turn flows into Lake Garda.

Casa del parco flora

This area is dedicated to the flora of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. All there is to know about plants can be found here: from the roots to the leaves, from herbs to grasses, from shrubs to trees . The different terrains are also explored: from peat bogs to beech woods to alpine meadows. No stone has been left unturned.

Picturesque village

Iron

Iron was built around 1600 by the inhabitants of the village of Ragoli to escape from the plague. It was subsequently abandoned when the plague came to an end. It's a charming picturesque village rebuilt over time. All the houses in this village have been designed as traditional mountain houses and are still used by the villagers.

Rock climbing training area

Falesia val d algone

Located next to the riverbed of Rio Algone, this crag has become a classic  for climbing enthusiasts. Characterised by large holes, short roofs, dihedrals and sharp edges, this training area offers a series of beautiful routes on a very characteristic limestone. It's ideal for those who wish to climb outdoor in the summer months as it is located in a cool, narrow gorge. Th difficulties of the training area go from 6 to 7. There are also some beginner routes.
